Our mission is to be the best commercial general contractor in the greater Denver metro area by providing the best service and value, consistently completing each project on time and on budget while maintaining the utmost in professionalism and customer service.

Founded in 2008, Coda Construction Group, LLC is a commercial general contractor in the greater Denver metro area. Our specialty lies within commercial tenant finish projects and can range from both small (< 50k) and large (>3M) projects.

Our original team consisted of the Owners and one Superintendent and has since grown into a team of over 20 people. Combined, our team has over 175 years of experience in all facets of construction from residential to commercial ground-up. We’ve successfully completed over 1,000 projects including medical, dental, medical office building, corporate office, institutional and retail build-outs.

A few of our past projects include OnDeck, WWT, Asarch Dermatology, multiple surgery centers and the Fillmore with spaces ranging from 1k sq ft to upwards of 80k sq ft.

We take particular pride in finishing projects on time and on budget within challenging constraints and conditions. We feel that the commitment to the relationship comes above all else when dealing with clients, architects, designers, subcontractors and employees. This commitment has allowed us to become successful in creating a reputation for reliability, professionalism and integrity in everything that we do.

Fully Supported Projects

The projects need to be fully supported, both from the customer’s perspective and from the internal project manager’s perspective. Full support not only includes project management support and financial support but also administrative support. Coda is committed to open and timely communication throughout all aspects of each project.

Our Team

Mark Stratton, President

Mark has over 25 years in the construction industry both in commercial construction and residential custom home building. Originally from Memphis, TN, Mark brings passion and enthusiasm to each client and project. Mark is responsible for marketing, estimating and project management. Mark takes particular pride in developing long term relationships with both clients and subcontractors to achieve optimal results in each project.  Roll Tide Roll!

Jennifer Byrden, Vice President

Jennifer has 20 years experience in corporate finance and accounting as well as experience in small business management. Jennifer is responsible for the daily operations of the company including contract administration, insurance, accounting and project management as well as supporting the field superintendents.

Kevin Clapham, General Superintendent

Kevin has over 25 years in the construction industry as a custom home builder and commercial construction superintendent.  Kevin is responsible for scheduling and management of projects ranging from medical to office space.  Kevin’s commitment to the client relationship results in consistently exceeding expectations both in the field and in the corporate office on each project.  Kevin’s dedication to Coda almost equals his die hard love of the Broncos!

Abby Sidebottom, Lead Estimator

Abby has recently moved into our estimator role.  She has previous experience at Coda and at an architectural design build firm as a project coordinator. She is first point of contact for all estimating requests and is responsible for compiling and preparing all proposals that are sent out to clients.  Her quick response time, eye for detail and commitment to the client makes her an integral part of the team.  Demon Deacons rule.

Steve Novak, Project Manager

Steve has over 20 years of construction experience with over 10 of those as a Project Manager on all types of work: breweries, medical, corporate office, imaging centers and restaurants.  Steve has excellent attention to detail in all of his projects as well as a passion for success.  He is originally from Iowa, imported to Denver in 1996.

Bryce Durke, Project Manager

Bryce has over 10 years in the construction industry as a construction project manager and has extensive experience in commercial TI construction most specifically in medical and corporate office. He recently joined Coda and we are excited he is part of the Coda team.

Lisa Binkowski, Project Manager

Lisa joined Coda as a Project Coordinator in the fall of 2013 and has since been promoted to Project Manager. She is responsible for all of the project management of her client projects including support in the office for the Superintendents in the field which includes processing all submittals and other documentation related to the projects.  Go Badgers!

Kelsy Welsh, Project Coordinator

Kelsy started with Coda November of 2015 and brings 10 years of project coordinating experience.  Her background includes work with medical facilities, libraries, educational facilities and churches.  She was born and raised in Colorado Springs and moved to Denver in 2000.


Fitz Boze, Project Coordinator

Fitz is originally from Richmond, VA and graduated from Hampden Sydney College.  His most recent experience is as a construction coordinator and lease administrator for Bencor, a commercial development firm out of Colorado Springs.  His prior experience in construction and in handling the change directives and lease obligations at Bencor suit the volume and customer service orientation needed as a Project Coordinator at Coda.

Derek Swierenga, Superintendent

Derek joined Coda Construction Group in the fall of 2013 as a superintendent and is responsible for the scheduling and management of projects.  A native of Colorado, Derek brings over 20 years of construction experience to the firm.  Derek maintains a strong work ethic and paired with his commitment to quality, allows for the timely completion of projects and overall client satisfaction.

James Bettinger, Superintendent

James is a Denver native with over 20 years of construction experience, most of it in residential.  His background in residential remodeling has given him extensive experience in all trades, including custom carpentry. With his hands on approach and vast skill set, he brings many valuable qualities to our team, projects, and clients.

Jeremy Brandow, Superintendent

Jeremy joined Coda Construction Group in 2013 has been in the construction industry for 19 years. He got his start as a home remodeler and then eventually moved into tenant finish. After 10 years as a project manager, he decided to join Coda as a Superintendent. With his knowledge and passion for the construction industry, he is a great addition to our team.

Greg Karsten, Superintendent

Greg has 15 years of construction experience, most of it in residential and as a skilled carpenter.  His background allows him the ability to handle issues in the field and quickly resolve problems.  He is an excellent communicator and always willing to do what it takes to complete a project.

Randy Chance, Superintendent

Randy has lived in Denver for 37 years but grew up in Arkansas.  He has 20 years of commercial construction experience as a Superintendent in various tenant finish environments: medical, office, retail & warehouse.

Garrick Rupp, Superintendent

Garrick joined Coda Construction Group in August of 2011.  Garrick started as an Assistant Superintendent and has since been promoted to Superintendent.  He is very knowledgeable and reliable in the field while continuing to learn and gain experience in the commercial construction industry.

Mike Davis, Superintendent

Mike grew up in the Seattle area and has lived in Hawaii working as a project engineer doing commercial construction and subdivisions.  He also has worked in construction in multifamily and tenant improvement after moving to Colorado to start his life with his wife and family.

Mark Stratton, Jr, Assistant Superintendent

Mark Stratton Jr. has been with Coda 1 year and has 5 years of previous experience in commercial painting and demolition. He is eager to learn more about the commercial construction industry from the GC perspective and is able to use his past experience in his every day duties on project sites.

Michael Smith, Assistant Superintendent

Michael started with Coda in 2014 as an assistant superintendent, eager to learn about the tenant finish industry hands on in the field. He has already proven himself to be a very reliable and enthusiastic team member and we are lucky to have him.

Steven Aguilar, Assistant Superintendent

Steven recently joined us as an Assistant Superintendent and has already proven himself to be an excellent team member as he has over 4 years in TI construction experience.
